Take a look! New Delhi: BLACKPINK’S Lisa aka Lalisa Manoban fresh off the release of her solo project Rockstar on June 28, finds herself embroiled in a plagiarism controversy.

The eye-catching music video received widespread acclaim from BLINKS and LILLIES for its vibrant visuals and Lisa’s dynamic performance. Now, the MV has come under scrutiny after Chinese designer Jewel Y accused Lisa’s stylist of copying her design. Jewel Y took to Xiaohongshu, a popular Chinese social media platform, to assert that this design closely mirrors one of her original creations from 2020. She claimed that a stylist, either Korean or British, borrowed her design during that period and subsequently popularised it, infringing upon her creative rights. For those who do not know, Jewel Y detailed that her fashion line, produced in London, gained international exposure through various photoshoots.

However, she shifted to a career in makeup during the latter stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, leaving her brand with limited visibility in the Chinese market. Due to this, her designs were not formally copyrighted, sparking a heated debate about the legitimacy .
