star Tamayo Perry has passed away following a surfing session in Hawaii. The 49-year-old was enjoying a surf during a break from his lifeguard duties near Laie, Hawaii, when his body was found at 1pm on Sunday (June 23). He was declared dead at the scene, and his identity was confirmed once his next of kin were informed.
The actor had been a surfer for over 15 years and had an impressive film and TV career before dedicating himself to saving others as a lifeguard. The actor featured in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and made appearances in Lost, Hawaii Five-0 and Blue Crush. He also participated in several advertising campaigns for brands such as Coca-Cola and Nissan Xterra.
Apart from his acting career, Tamayo taught others how to surf through Oahu Surfing Experience alongside his wife, Emilia Perry, reports . In his biography, the star opened up about his passion for surfing all his life. He wrote: "As a devoted waterman, I've gained a tremendous amount of knowledge, not only from what I've accomplished, but also from what I've suffered.
