Letters are sent out once the transfer from DWP to Social Security Scotland has been completed. More than 154,000 people in Scotland have already seen their award for Personal Independence Payment (PIP) successfully transferred from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to Adult Disability Payment (ADP). The devolved disability benefit is administered and delivered by Social Security Scotland.

Some 172,954 claimants still on PIP will see their award transferred to the Scottish system before the end of next year. People will receive two letters with important information about the move at least three months before the transfer is due to start, one from Social Security Scotland and one from DWP. Claimants will also receive another one after the transfer is completed which contains details about how much they will receive, how DWP data was used to determine the level of award, when the first payment from Social Security Scotland will be paid into their account and the date of their award review.

The letter states that this review date is based on the review date originally scheduled by the DWP. The letter states: “We'll need to review your Adult Disability Payment award around the same date as DWP would have reviewed your PIP. This will happen around [relevant date added].

” It continues: “We'll send you a review pack a month before your review date. This will give you more information about our review process and what you need to do next.” It also says that you will.
