Perrie Edwards has dropped hints that she's written a track about her former Little Mix bandmate and friend Jesy Nelson for her debut solo album - and she can't stop crying every time she listens to it. Singing sensation Perrie, 30, who shot to fame on The X Factor as one-fourth of Little Mix back in 2011, opened up about the new song she penned about a friendship that she no longer has. The mum-of-one also admitted that she can't listen to the lyrics without crying, which had led to much speculation that the track is about her epic fallout with former bandmate, Jesy, 33.
Jesy famously announced that she was leaving Little Mix in December 2020, much to the shock and dismay of the girl-band's loyal fans. The singer alluded to a fued when she released her statement, with her fellow band members, Perrie, Jade Thirlwall, and Leigh-Anne Pinnock all being left shocked by Jesy's decision to sensationally quit after almost a decade. Since Jesy's departure from the band, she has spoken to any of her former bandmates since.
Leigh-Anne, 32, recently revealed that she, Perrie, and Jade, all had to seek therapy following their friendship breakdown with Jesy, admitting that her decision to leave the band and end their friendship was traumatic and painful. Perrie opened up about her debut album, and her solo career, which kicked off when Little Mix decided to take a hiatus back in 2021. Speaking on The Zach Sang Show, Perrie said the song she wrote about the friendship breakdown is very clo.
