A WHEEL of Fortune player has forced host Pat Sajack to step in after he prematurely celebrated solving a puzzle. The hilarious but awkward moment came late in Monday's episode of the popular game show , leaving viewers stunned. During the Triple Toss Up, the evening's three competitors were tasked with solving different phrase-based puzzles.
Returning contestant Cynthia quickly solved the first two puzzles, raking in $4,000. She was stumped on the third, however, which allowed Rufus to deliver a response. "Don't look away," he confidently guessed.
As soon as the words left his lips, Cynthia began clapping and fellow player Luidgi reached out his hand for a fist bump. However, not everyone was in a celebratory mood as Pat yelled, "No! No!" The trio appeared stunned, stopping in their tracks. "It's not correct!" Wheel of Fortune 's longtime host, 77, explained.
"Everybody's congratulating everybody, and we get to keep the money," Pat snidely added. On X , previously known as Twitter, viewers had a laugh at the contestants' expense. "Tonight, Wheel of Fortune went from the 'Right in the Butt' incident last week, to THIS!" one commenter joked, referencing a past blunder .
"Wow, the people on Wheel of Fortune celebrated too early and lost the extra cash ...
." "Well that toss up fail was [laughing emoji]," a third viewer commented. "Just when you thought you solved an easy puzzle.
