"How dare Amazon cancel 'Outer Range' on that cliffhanger!" Amazon Prime Video has cancelled the sci-fi Western series Outer Range , just two months after the release of the second season. The series stars Josh Brolin as a Wyoming rancher who discovers a mysterious black void on his property, while also fighting to keep his land out of the hands of a rival family with whom he has a long-standing feud. Imogen Poots, Lili Taylor, Tamara Podemski, Lewis Pullman, Tom Pelphrey, Noah Reid, Shaun Sipos, Isabel Arraiza, Olive Abercrombie and Will Patton also star.

Outer Range premiered on Amazon Prime Video in April 2022 and was picked up for a second season in October that year. The series also changed showrunners at that time, with Charles Murray taking over for Zev Borow. Outer Range, one of most original and interesting shows in the last few has been cancelled after the 2nd season.

Its first season spent five weeks in the top 10 of the Nielsen Streaming Originals chart, which compiles viewing figures for streaming shows.

The second season reached the top three of the same chart. The decision to cancel the show means the season two finale, which arrived on the streaming service in May, will be the last ev.
