There are so many buzz words when it comes to dating - and now a new phrase is sending singletons into orbit. From love bombing to ghosting and bread crumbing, dating can be tricky at the best of times, so add in some slang and it becomes even harder to know what's going on. In a world of situationships and love triangles, the newest word on the block is 'orbiting', and it's apparently even worse than ghosting. What happened to good old courting ? How to tell if you're orbiting - or being orbited Do you still follow someone you matched on a dating app but haven't spoken in a while? Or went on a first date and didn't see them since. If you find yourself guilty of keeping up to date with what they're up to and watching from afar to without engaging, you're orbiting them. It's one step above ghosting, you're now haunting them.

Ghosting is when a person creates a false sense of dating security, but will then disappear without a trace - turning into a ghost. Orbiting is arguably worse as they're still around - and don't even have the courtesy to hide. They're reminding the potential love interest of their existence by follo.
