Oakdale is hosting its 40th annual Summerfest this weekend. Summerfest, which was first held in 1984, brings people together for food, entertainment, music, community-building and more, said Lori Pulkrabek, the city’s communications manager. Summerfest, which runs through Saturday, is held in Walton Park.

The festivities include kids activities, a free community picnic, a pop-up splash pad and live music, and a fireworks show, which will be at 10 p.m. Saturday.
