Summer has begun in Cayuga County, and the aromas of all sorts of foods and beverages are filling the air thanks to some new trucks. Whether they're parked in front of local businesses or part of weekly events like farmers markets and concerts, droves of local chefs are serving delicious meals on wheels. On our Facebook page, @auburncitizen , The Citizen asked readers to chime in with their favorite new food trucks in the Cayuga County area.

Here's who they honked their horns for: A customer gets food from Bearded Bear BBQ & Catering during Port Byron Canal Day in September. This Fleming-based food truck lives up to its name, promising a menu of hearty, barbecue favorites with brisket, pulled pork and chicken. Since last year, owner Jeramie Liseno has been serving up quesadillas and burritos, smoked macaroni and cheese, loaded tater tots and burnt ends — what the menu deems “meat candy.

It serves breakfast items like French toast sandwiches, as well as lunch and dinner options between big or little buns. The puns keep coming with the aptly named Crack Burger, a seasoned burger with cheddar, sour cream, ranch dressing, more cheddar cheese and spicy mayo. WHEN/WHERE: 8 a.
