A video shared on social media shows rapper and singer-songwriter Nicki Minaj's bizarre reaction when a fan tells her they are from Wales. The 'Starships' and 'Super Bass' singer was performing in the UK as part of her Pink Friday 2 World Tour. A clip shared by TikTok user jameliaa_x shows the artist on stage as she engages with various members of the audience.

While sharing the microphone with some fans, she asked the crowd: "Where are you guys from?". After passing the microphone to one fan, they explain that they are from Wales. They said: "I'm from Wales, Nicki", which seemingly got a rousing applause from other fans.

The Trinidadian rapper responded with a rather posh English accent and said: "Wales. It always reminds me of a dear friend of mine, well - she's not here any more, the Princess of Wales [Princess Diana]. Let's have a moment of silence for her".

"Is the Welsh accent in the room with us?" one TikToker asked. "Nicki’s accent is quite marvellous," another one said.

Others praised her for her interaction with her fans, while others pointed out that "Welsh accents are completely different from London accents". Perhaps Nicki's response was influenced by fellow rapper Ice Spi.
