New “Wheel of Fortune” host Ryan Seacrest is paying tribute to his legendary predecessor, Pat Sajak . On June 7, Sajak bid farewell to “Wheel of Fortune” viewers after hosting the beloved game show for more than 40 years. Before Seacrest, who was announced as Sajak’s replacement back in June 2023, steps in to fill the hosting duties, he is taking a moment to celebrate Sajak’s iconic run on the show.

The “American Idol” host penned a message to Sajak the day his final episode aired to congratulate the host on his retirement. On Instagram , Seacrest uploaded a photo of him, Vanna White and Sajak standing behind the massive “Wheel of Fortune” wheel and a short video of the trio joking around on the set. “Pat, congratulations on an incredible run with Wheel of Fortune!” he wrote in the caption.



“Your dedication, charm, and wit have made the show a beloved part of American television for decades.” He praised the “iconic” decadeslong partnership between Sajak and White and said the duo have created so many cherished memories for fans throughout the years. “You’ve set the standard for hosts everywhere, and this marks the end of an era.

Best wishes for all your future endeavors!” Seacrest added. Sajak became the face of the game show in 1981. White joined him in 1982, and the two have been watching contestants win money ever since.
