NCIS fans who watch the iconic show on Netflix are soon going to be left disappointed thanks to an upcoming major change. It was announced earlier this year that NCIS would be leaving Netflix altogether by the end of June, scrapping seasons one to 15 from its extensive catalog. However, in an unexpected U-turn, this will no longer be the case with NCIS remaining on Netflix but sadly, in a far more limited capacity.
NCIS Hawaii’s Vanessa Lachey ‘blindsided’ by unexpected spin-off cancellation Dune 1984’s original cast compared to Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya epic Seasons 1-11 of the CBS and Paramount+ police procedural will be axed from Netflix next month. So subscribers will be saying goodbye to the majority of the Tony DiNozzo (played by Michael Weatherly) and Ziva David (Cote de Pablo) era. It isn’t all bad news though as Netflix US will gain seasons 16 and 17 and hold onto seasons 12-15.
The partial retention is most likely due to the fact the show consistently performs well on the streamer, regularly showing up in Nielsen’s Top 10 lists. It was ranked as the fifth most popular show for the first half of April, for example, and came in at third place for the most popular series last year. So it’s no wonder that Netflix was keen to at least keep some of its hundreds of episodes in its library of content.
This shuffle for NCIS on Netflix is scheduled to take place on Sunday, June 30. If fans are keen to watch seasons one through 11 and the later series 18-21.
