AN interior designer has revealed the budget-friendly tricks that can transform the appearance of any size home. She said the right color paint can instantly make a home look more expensive but be cautious when selecting furnishings. Sophie Clemson is the Director and Co-founder of The Living House , an online interior design company.
Speaking to The U.S. Sun, she shared tips for a luxurious home without breaking the bank.
Clemson said interior designers use paint and artwork to enhance the appearance of homes. However, these aren’t the only budget-friendly tricks for a quick upgrade. “When you're updating a room, one of the first steps should be to declutter,” she said.
“You will see what space you have to work with, especially if you're making layout changes. “Less is more, don't feel like you have to overfill a space, a carefully curated room will look more elevated and well designed. “Paint is a great way to transform a room.
“It will instantly change the way a room feels and can be affordable when you're on a budget. “Consider where you can use one paint color in multiple rooms, this will decrease any waste and also create a flow throughout your home. “As interior designers, we always recommend using black within a design scheme to make it look more expensive.
“Black can help to anchor the space and bring in contrast, especially within a neutral room. “To make your home look more expensive on a budget, opt for large pieces of artwork to make a state.
