Mohammed Al-Mutairi, Director of the Public Relations Department and official spokesman for Kuwait Municipality, urged citizens to refrain from exploiting their home basements for financial gain, emphasizing the risks posed to lives and property.
Al-Mutairi highlighted that supervisory teams recently discovered advertisements seeking to rent basements in residential areas at exorbitant rates, raising concerns about potential safety hazards. In an official statement, Al-Mutairi underscored that storing goods, including flammable materials and toxic gases, in residential basements violates municipal bylaws, regulations, and laws. Kuwait Municipality teams are committed to enforcing these regulations through regular inspection tours to prevent the misuse of residential spaces.
