More photos have emerged from the Cleveland, Ohio set of James Gunn’s “Superman” reboot, these ones showing off some of the bad guys of the film. Photos from yesterday and today have revealed a Black Noir-esque figure that is rumored to be Ultraman – either way he’s a character able to pin David Corenswet’s Superman to the ground. Rumors have swirled that the new film will see Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult) uses some of Clark’s DNA to create an exact clone of his nemesis.

Gunn seemingly debunked the report but people are now looking at the wording of his response more carefully. The photos also give a good look at María Gabriela de Faría as Authority member The Engineer, and Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr. with those latter two apprehending Superman.

There’s also a set of shots with Nicholas Hoult’s Lex Luthor. The actor is covered in a poncho, but his head is glimpsed and the character seems to have been in a fight with make-up wounds around his face. Finally there’s video of one of the good guys, Edi Gathegi shooting a scene as Mister Terrific.

Check out the photos and video below. Filming on the project is expected to continue through until August ahead of a release in cinemas in July next year. BREAKING: Superman appears to have met his match during a fight scene being filmed in front of city hall on Tuesday.
