Miriam Margolyes has seen her bank balance soar after selling videos to fans. The Harry Potter and Call The Midwife actress joined the video platform, Cameo, selling personalised videos to her adoring fans and often leaving them in fits of laughter. Celebs who use the platform can charge anything they like for the clips which often range from thirty seconds to several minutes.

But when acting work was brought to a halt during the coronavirus lockdown periods, many celebs turned to the platform as a way of making quick cash, all while entertaining fans. Those who purchase the videos can ask for anything from a birthday message, a celebratory message or a pep talk. During Thursday's episode of Loose Women , Miriam detailed just how much she has made and the results are astounding.



The actress charges a whopping £135 for each video, with her average lasting around two minutes. "Since Covid I have made £365,000 through cameos and personalised videos," she explained. The actress, 83, who is famed for her potty mouth went on to add: "One day I will need carers.

I want to be comfortable and I want them to be properly paid for. It is really because I want to make money though and they pay me to do it." When asked if there is anything she wouldn't do for money, Miriam quipped: "I wouldn't eat s**t, am I allowed to say that?" When Kaye Adams said: "No," she simply joked: "Oh, ok, I wouldn't eat faeces.
