Isabella Strahan is excited after her chemo port was surgically removed by doctors. Michael Strahan 's 19-year-old daughter shared the happy news Wednesday on her vlog, where she's detailed her road to recovery since being diagnosed with brain cancer in October 2023. Isabella's video begins with her and her mom on their way to Duke Children's Hospital in Durham, North Carolina, where she successfully underwent surgery.
"Long time no see! But I am driving back up to get my port removed," said Isabella while pointing to her neck and stomach where she gets the medication. "That's where they poke me every time." After checking into her Inside Out -themed room in the hospital, Isabella said she was excited after speaking to her medical team about the procedure, which requires minimal recovery.
"The recovery for this seems to be like four weeks of not going in water and stuff like that. Just kind of being careful and scar care," she said. "So, not too bad.
" As she was wheeled into the surgery room, doctors and nurses cheered her on with pom-poms, batons and a bubble machine. After surgery, Isabella donned a crown on her head as she excitedly smiled due to the fact she no longer felt the ports on her neck. "The only thing that kind of is very sore is where the actual port was but 10 out of 10 loved my little nap," she shared.
