Jeremy Vine has spoken out over Dr Michael Mosley's disappearance. The regular This Morning doctor, 67, has been holidaying on the Greek island of Symi with his wife Clare and friends. However, he failed to return home after departing from Saint Nikoli Beach around 1pm on Wednesday.

Michael had been due to take a walk to where he was staying in Symi Town, just two miles away from the beach. Greek authorities have launched a major search and rescue mission to help locate the missing medical expert, with the Mayor of the town believing he may have fallen into the sea. But his pal Jeremy Vine has now addressed his disappearance on his self-titled Channel 5 programme.

The 59-year-old said he was "waiting in hope" as he sent his love and best wishes to Michael's relatives. During the discussion with Jessica Davies and Angela Epstein about his friend vanishing, Jeremy said he was "praying" that Michael was ok, before adding the route he was on "doesn't look particularly dangerous." Angela, who is also friends with Michael commented: "I know the Greek Islands very well.

But the point is at the moment, Greece is having a really, really strong heatwave. I think the temperature in Symi today was going to be something in the 40s. It's awful to speculate because at the heart of this is a human horror story, where is he? "But you know, under those circumstances, was it hot? Did he fall? Did he faint? The fact he didn't take his phone suggested he was only going to be out for a short time,.
