Bands will be marching, food trucks will be serving and rubber ducks will be racing during the city of Auburn's Memorial Day festivities. The morning of Monday, March 27, will begin with the city's annual parade along Genesee Street through downtown at 11 a.m.
At the end of the parade, around noon, the traditional wreath-laying ceremony will take place at Veterans Memorial Park at 172 Genesee St. The food truck rodeo after the 2023 Memorial Day parade in Auburn. As the parade ends, the energy in the city's Market Street Park will be picking up.
There the Auburn Downtown Business Improvement District will host its annual Food Truck Rodeo, featuring performances by DownBeat Percussion after the parade and the newly formed Phoenix Phive playing classic rock and new country from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. The new band consists of local musicians Shelly Major, Mike Keegan, Duke Shanahan, Thames Nolan, Michele Chisholm and Connie Daloia.
Serving food and beverages in the park will be Rosalie's Cruisin' Cucina, Real Pit BBQ, the Sip Beverage Co., Tonzi's Catering Co., Irie Jamaican Queen, Leo's Donut Factory, Silver Street Kettle Corn and Poppy's Ice Cream Truck.
In addition, Knights of Columbus Council No. 207 will grill burgers and hot dogs for purchase, and the Cultural Italian American Organization will sell its popular pizza fritte. Cold adult beverages will be available from Auburn's Next Chapter Brewpub and Shep's Brewing co.
