The 40,000 in attendance were also greeted by an appearance by Ricky Tomlinson Members of The Zutons and Echo & the Bunnymen joined Jamie Webster onstage at his recent homecoming concert in Liverpool – watch fan footage of those moments below. At Sefton Park yesterday (July 12), Webster invited several guest musicians during a section of the set that comprised entirely of covers. He began with a cover of Talking Heads ’ ‘This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody)’, where he was joined by singer-songwriter Brooke Combes, who performed as a support act earlier in the day.

After which, he invited The Zutons’ Dave McCabe for a cover of the band’s ‘Valerie’, while Echo & the Bunnymen’s Ian McCulloch joined for a cover of their 1997 single ‘Nothing Lasts Forever’. Webster ended this portion of the set with a cover of The Real Thing’s ‘You to Me Are Everything’ – he added that the band were invited to join him onstage but were not in attendance that night. A notable figure who was in attendance, however, was ‘The Royle Family’ actor Ricky Tomlinson, who gave a rousing speech about his hometown Liverpool prior to the band’s performance, which began with ‘Voice of the Voiceless’.
