The incident is said to have taken place while the former Suits actress taste tested food before her big day with Prince Harry in 2018.

The duchess is said to have been left "unimpressed" and "got very upset" after saying she "felt that she could taste egg" in one of the dishes. Katie claimed to Yahoo's Royal Box that Meghan was assured there was no egg in the dish but she was unconvinced as the duchess allegedly hit back: "No, I can taste it." Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, who passed away in September 2022, walked into the room at Windsor Castle and "quietly took Meghan to the side", the Express reports.
