They don’t market themselves as such, but the Tulsa event-planning company founded by Talmadge Powell and Todd Pyland is arguably the entity behind the best parties in Oklahoma. The majority of their clients are the biggest and most influential nonprofits in the region looking to raise money and awareness for their cause. The budget for a TPC Studios event ranges from $100,000 to $300,000.

Those attending pay anywhere from a few hundred dollars per person to thousands to sponsor a table. “We hear this often, which is great and we love: They can usually tell if it’s a TPC Studios event within three minutes of walking in the door because of the production level of the event,” Powell said. “And that’s what we want.



We want people to know this is going to be a great time.” Pyland added that the goal is to provide something you haven’t seen before in our visual world — “something that gets them out of the normal.” Those somethings may include anything from setting up 14 trampolines slightly below and behind a stage — with people in costume jumping on them — to a spontaneous entrance of 50 people dressed as zombies doing the famous choreographed dance to Michael Jackson’s iconic song “Thriller.

” Powell and Pyland are just as passionate about being able to help raise money as they are about creating elaborate events. Tulsa nonprofits with which they’ve worked include Family & Children’s Services, Mental Health Association Oklahoma, Emergency Infan.
