After Stree, Roohi, and Bhediya, Munjya is the recent film in Dinesh Vijan's Maddock supernatural universe. Released on June 7, the horror comedy has become a surprise hit and earned over Rs 110 crore gross worldwide, shocking the trade pundits and audiences. Abhay Verma, who plays the leading role in the film, has become a star overnight.

Hailing from Panipat, Haryana, Abhay came to Mumbai to become an actor but his journey wasn't really a smooth one. He first worked as a junior artiste in Hrithik Roshan-starrer Super 30, where he earned Rs 800 daily in 2018. Recalling the same experience, he told Free Press Journal, "I was a junior artist in Super 30 and when I used to get 800 rupees per day, I used to learn so many things just by looking around.



I used to get inspire by seeing those 200 people throughout the day. I don’t know how to put this in the most modest way, but I decided I would not do this for long. I am meant for bigger things solely for the sake of cinema.

" Abhay then made his acting debut in a minor role in 2019 in the web series Little Things. He caught the attention of the audiences when he played a terrorist in the second season of the Manoj Bajpayee-starrer web series The Family Man in 2021. In 2020, he was offered Irrfan Khan-starrer Angrezi Medium, but he refused the film.
