Tom Kerridge has been teased by fans after sharing his latest culinary 'crowd pleaser'. The Masterchef and Saturday Kitchen star took to Instagram yesterday to show off his 'Beer Can Chicken' recipe, loaded with 'amazing Korean barbecue flavours'. As the name states, this recipe involves inserting an entire can of booze (Kerridge used Red Stripe larger) to help moisten the meat while it cooks and avoid it drying out.

But in the now-viral video, the TV cook, who has whipped up controversy in the past for his restaurant's eye-watering prices , seems to neglect one important thing: you need to open the can first...

"You're roasting a whole chicken with a can of beer inside it," the 50-year-old celeb said. "So as it cooks, it steams, alright? It bubbles away and helps keep it lovely and moist and tender inside." Kerridge seasoned the chicken by adding salt and pepper into the 'cavity' and then inserted the can of beer inside before BBQing for around an hour.

He brushed the meat with a spicy sauce featuring butter, gochujang, garlic, soy sauce, fish sauce, caster sugar, and sesame oil - basting the meat with the Korean glaze every five or ten minutes after the chicken has been cooking for half an hour. An hour later, the meat should be 'beautifully moist and juicy'. The chef then serves the chicken with Japanese mayo, red chillies and 'finely sliced' Kimchi.
