Founded in 2009 by Liam Gallagher, British contemporary menswear label Pretty Green continues to sit at the intersection of British fashion and music subcultures, offering a deeper insight into the unique and adventurous spirit of London. This season Pretty Green debuts a new campaign starring Ivor Novello Rising Star winner Master Peace. The London born musician teams up with the legacy British streetwear brand for a project that delves into art, music and fashion within the capital.
Looking back on formative years which inspired his new album ‘How To Make A Master Peace’, and his adolescence as an aspiring footballer, the artist invited Pretty Green to meet him at Tooting and Mitcham Sports Club. Here the singer was able to trace early musical and fashion influences that have helped shape the artist he is today, exploring key pieces of the Pretty Green collection like a classic track top, which shares roots in the working class and indie rock. “The track tops, that’s all I could afford when I was a kid” muses Master Peace.
“So track tops...
they needed to be the blueprint for when people are coming to shows...
for my headline show at Scala, all my fans were in track tops...
it felt so emotional, like this is where I’ve come from, this is my world.” Master Peace’s debut album ‘How To Make A Master Peace’ is out now via PMR Records. The full interview and Pretty Green collection are available on prettygreen.
