Madhuri Dixit Nene is being criticized across social media for allegedly collaborating with Rehan Siddiqi, a Houston-based Pakistani origin promoter, who has links to the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and is blacklisted by the Indian government. Sunanda Vashisth, a columnist and political commentator, shared a picture on Friday (28 June 2024) of the poster of Madhuri Dixit and Rehan Siddiqi's event, which will take place in August 2024 in Houston, Texas, just a day after the Independence Day. Taking to X (Twitter), Sunanda Vashisth slammed Madhuri Dixit for collaborating with Rehan Siddiqi, urging her to call the event off.

She also shared a four year old letter by BJP Minister Kishan Reddy, who was, back then, the Minister of State for Home Affairs of India. The letter states that Rehan Siddiqi has been ‘blacklisted’ by the Indian government.
