THE LOVE Island USA cast has multiple rules and regulations to follow before being invited on the show and during their time in the Villa, according to former islander, Coye Simmons. Coye - who was the first of the Season 6 castmates to get the boot - exclusively spoke to The U.S.
Sun about what goes on behind the scenes. The Peacock reality series follows a group of single people in their quest to find love within the Villa while competing against each other for a $100,000 grand prize. However, viewers only see a fraction of their journey, which is much longer than fans think.
Coye, 28, revealed that production contacted him via Instagram , expressing interest in having him join Season 6, which he initially didn't believe was a legitimate proposal. "Somebody reached out to me from Instagram, and it was vague, and I was like, is this real?" the 6-foot-8 star confessed. "I was like, why not give it the opportunity? It is cool, just being there and just being at the Villas, meeting new people, being in Fiji.
It's a great experience. If you get a knock on the door, open it. Why not?" Coye added about eventually being open to the idea.
He soon learned that the process was more extensive than anybody realized. Coye revealed that the group had to participate in a mandatory session with a psychiatrist and complete a questionnaire before being considered for the show. After that, production flew Coye and his costars to Fiji two weeks before filming began, where they settled in and re.
