The six-track ‘Volume Three’ collection accompanies free update 'Secrets Of The Machine God' A new update for Warhammer 40,000: Darktide was released last week, and now the official soundtrack for Secrets Of The Machine God is due soon. Before the official launch of ‘Volume 3’ of Darktide ’s soundtrack though, fans can check out the ‘Derelict Research’ track below, exclusively on NME . Darktide is a first-person co-op shooter set within the massive Warhammer 40,000 universe and is the spiritual successor to the Vermintide series.

Last month, Fatshark released the free Secrets Of The Machine God update, bringing a number of new weapons like the iconic bolt pistol, pickaxes, shock mauls and a new double-barrelled shotgun to the game alongside new mission Clandestium Gloriana, which tasks players with exploring a derelict Mechanicus research station. To accompany the update, Fatshark once again worked with BAFTA-award-winning composer Jesper Kyd ( Assassin’s Creed , Borderlands , Hitman ) to create a suitably epic, ominous ‘Volume 3’ of the Darktide soundtrack. “Fatshark wanted a unique score that didn’t sound like anything else you’ve heard before and this has resulted in a deeply atmospheric and adrenaline fuelled soundtrack,” said Kyd.
