Lane Davies returned to this week and . Lane appeared in Wednesday May 22's episode of General Hospital as attorney Fergus Byrne. Fergus is the older brother of Neil Byrne, who was Alexis Davis' (Nancy Lee Grahn) psychiatrist.
They eventually began dating and he no longer served as her psychiatrist but Neil met a sad end when he was caught injecting opioids by Harmony Miller. In the May 22 episode, Fergus confronted Alexis in court as she works to get her law license reinstated. He was a part of the committee that disbarred her and wants her to continued to be disbarred.
This is Lane's second time playing a character on General Hospital. The actor previously played Dr. Cameron Lewis from 2002 to 2004.
During his time as Dr. Cameron, he had a short-lived romance with Nancy's Alexis. The two go way back to another soap opera called Santa Barbara that aired from 1984 - 1993.
Lane and Nancy respectively portrayed Mason Capwell and Julia Wainwright ,who was a very popular and sizzling couple for the soap. Lane spoke with to discuss making his return, working with Nancy again, their well-known chemistry and his history. He told the outlet how the new role came to be.
He shared that it was a "combination of factors." Those factors was Nancy wanting him back, running into Patrick Mulcahey, ex co-head writer of GH, at a funeral for Bridget Dobson. Patrick wrote for Santa Barbara and Bridget was co-creator and former co-head writer of said soap.
