Kim Soo-hyun, star of the hit drama “Queen of Tears,” emerged as the No. 1 favorite TV actor in South Korea. Gallup Korea released the results of a survey about the 50 Things Koreans Like in celebration of its 17th anniversary.

The survey covered subjects including favorite singer, talent, movie actor, entertainment broadcaster, comedian, presidents, luxury brands, OTT platforms, sports players and businessmen. Gallup Korea conducted the survey from March 22 to April 5 among 1,777 respondents aged 13 and older in South Korea (excluding Jeju Island). In the favorite TV actor, Kim Soo-hyun is No.



1 with 6.4 percent followed by actor Namkoong Min and actress Kim Ji-won (“Queen of Tears”) with 2.9 percent.

Actor-idol Chae Eun-woo and actress Kim Nam-joo, who both starred in the drama “Wonderful World,” placed fourth with 2.7 percent. Actor Choi Soo-jong is No.

6 with 2.5 percent followed by actor Song Joong-ki, 2.3 percent; actor Choi Bool-am, 2.

2 percent; actress Go Doo-shim, 2 percent; and actress Kim Go-eun, 1.8 percent. All actors in the top 10 have been active for more than 10 years.

Cha Eun-woo, who debuted in 2014, has the shortest period of activity, while the oldest is Choi Bul-am who debuted in 1967. Other TV actors/talents who got more than 1 percent are Han So-hee, Kim Hye-ja, Park Eun-bin (1.7 percent), Park Seo-joon (1.

6 percent), Son Ye-jin (1.5 percent), Song Hye-kyo, and Kim Yoo-jung (above 1.2 percent), Jun Ji-hyun, Kim Hye-soo (above 1.
