Kevin Costner ‘s Western epic Horizon: An American Saga had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival on Sunday, getting an 11-minute, 40-second ovation after the credits began rolling at the Grand Theatre Lumiere. The three-hour movie is the first chapter of a planned four-part series directed by and starring Costner, who soaked in the applause along his fellow stars including Sienna Miller, Alejandro Edda, Jena Malone, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Georgia MacPhail, Ella Hunt, Isabelle Fuhrman, Wasé Chief, Luke Wilson and Costner’s son Hayes Logan Costner. Costner told Deadline recently that Chapter 3 begins production this month. The film, which returns Costner to the Western genre, chronicles the expansion of the American West before and after the Civil War.
