JEOPARDY! host Ken Jennings has taken the blame for a hotly contested ruling met with fan fury during an episode last week. Ken , 50, addressed the Bridival Falls moment in a post-game clip shared on the Inside Jeopardy! podcast. In last Wednesday's episode, fans were flabbergasted when Ken ruled Kelly Proulx's "Bridevail Falls" response incorrect only because she added an "S." “Well all three of you played well, it was not a forgone conclusion until the very end," Ken told the contestants. “You know, it turned out no one knew [Final Jeopardy was] 'Mary Queen of Scotts,' so it didn’t matter. "I’m glad it didn’t hinge on my very harsh ruling on the ‘S.’” to which Kelly nervously laughed.

Ken applauded Isaac Hirsch , who won his first game, and concluded, “All three of you made it on the show, which is the hard part." Kelly was a one-day champ who lost to Isaac, who has since won three games and $70,186. On July 3's episode, Kelly answered the $2,000 clue in the Double Jeopardy category "Waterfalls.
