Indian films are roaring strong at the Box Office and the Box Office success of recent releases in the region is proof. You will be amazed to know that Kalki 2898 AD and Jatt & Juliet 3 are performing sensationally overseas. New Delhi: The last weekend of June 2024 brought fireworks for Indian cinema at the global Box Office.
With rebel star Prabhas’ Kalki 2898 AD and Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh starrer Jatt & Juliet 3 taking the silver screen by storm, cinema lovers are heading to theaters in huge numbers worldwide. According to a report by News18.com, citing Deadline, both films have entered the top 10 weekend performers at the North American Box Office.
The Nag Ashwin directorial reportedly collected USD 5.4 million over the weekend, securing the fifth spot. Including the collection from previews, the total collections reach USD 11 million in North America.
Huge, isn’t it? The science fiction movie is said to be produced on a jaw-dropping budget of Rs 600 crore, making it the most expensive Indian flick ever. It also features Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani in pivotal roles. The storyline of Kalki 2898 AD, produced by C Aswini Dutt, was inspired by Hindu mythology.
The film is believed to be the first installment in a planned Kalki Cinematic Universe. It is being said that sequel of the movie is almost 60 per cent completed. However, its release date is yet to be announced.
