Nollywood actor Jim Iyke explained why he struggles to make friends. He revealed that he can’t be friends with people who hold grudges. On the ‘Deep Dive’ podcast with comedian Teju Babyface, Iyke shared that his fast-paced personal growth makes it hard for many to keep up with him.
“We don’t dwell on emotions. I can’t be friends with everyone,” he said. “I need friends who don’t hold onto my past actions.
I change quickly, so who I was yesterday is different from who I am today. Not everyone can handle that. I need friends who aren’t upset if we don’t talk for weeks.
” He shared an example: “There was a time I didn’t call a friend for four months, and he didn’t call me either. But when we do talk, it’s meaningful.” “I don’t want a friend I need to check in with daily.
I won’t be there for every event like your kid’s birthday or anniversary. But if you call me and I sense you truly need me, I’ll move mountains for you. So, choose the kind of friends you want.
