JEOPARDY! has caused an internet swirl with a street slang clue that some fans felt was a bit of a reach for the revered quiz show. Drew Basile - who is the current Jeopardy! champ and a Survivor alum - won his second of three games. Drew faced Jonquil Garrick-Reynolds and Bob Longstreth last Thursday, June 20.

The $800 clue was selected under the category "In The Streets" and read by the one and only Ken Jennings. It was, "In the streets, it's your rival; Maxo Kream rhymes the word with 'drop.'" Without hesitation, Drew buzzed in and instantly got it correct; "What is: 'Opp.

'" "Opp" is an abbreviation of the word "opponent" or "enemy." The term is all the rage in rap music (see Kendrick Lamar's legendary Drake diss track Not Like Us ) and in video game chatrooms. That said, viewers were not expecting to hear "Opp" on Jeopardy! and the clip made the rounds on social media.

"When did Jeopardy start teaching ppl about hood slang," one surprised X user wrote. "Opp being a word on jeopardy is nuts," wrote another. "That boy knew the answer with no hesitation," quipped a third.

"This is crazy. I watched this last night, and I was shocked," posted a fourth. "The culture continues to be vultured," lamented a fifth, "since when did famous game shows start using the word opp.

" "I miss Alex Trebek ...

Jeopardy used to be a serious show...

" wrote a sixth. "Ugh, it still is," replied another, adding, "to a degree." Drew won the match and Friday's game as well, for a handsome total of $53.
