JEOPARDY! fans witnessed a new champ emerge on Monday, though the victory came with a contentious pronunciation ruling some were sore about. Cat Pisacano , who had defeated Survivor alum Drew Basile , faced off against Matt Brooks and Zoe Strassfield. With Drew's seven-day winning streak in the rearview, it was time to see if Cat could continue her success and survive a second game.

The NYC nurse entered with $11,500 from the previous upset win and immediately met fierce competition from Virginia healthcare analyst Matt. In the Jeopardy! round, Cat and Matt were neck and neck, with Matt gaining $1,000 from the first Daily Double. Near the end of the round, things hit a snag when Matt buzzed in on the $400 “Taking You To School” clue.

The clue read, “Anatomy: There are both false & true vocal cords in this hollow, tubular structure, also called the voice box.” Matt responded, “What’s the lar-nyx?” looking unsure and glancing at his opponents. “Yes, we will take that, yes,” Ken , 50, hesitantly ruled.

“Larynx,” the host clarified. By the end of the round, Cat was narrowly in second place with $5,200, Matt had $6,600, and Zoe was at -$1,000. In Double Jeopardy!, Zoe missed the second Daily Double for $2,000, and Cat missed the last one, dropping $2,500 but still capturing the lead.

She held $12,300, while Matt was close behind with $10,600, and Zoe had $1,600. The Final Jeopardy! clue under “GERMAN BOOKS” read, “First published in 1812, this anthology.
