JEOPARDY champ Drew Basile has been called out for the way he played a recent game. On Thursday's episode, the former Survivor aimed for his seventh win against his opponents Luke Hemphill and Jayake Kolli. Before the first Jeopardy commercial break, Drew had a slow start with $2,600 - putting him in second place behind Jayake with $4,600.
At the end of the first round, Jayake was still in the lead with $5,800, but Drew was slowly catching up as he had $4,200, and Luke with $2,600. After the Double Jeopardy segment ended, Drew was way ahead with $19,000, and Luke and Jayake were tied with $7,800. During the Final Jeopardy round, the three contestants had to answer a question that went under the theme of Businessmen.
Jayaker guessed correctly and stayed with $7,800. Luke, unfortunately, did not get the correct answer and lost all but $800. Luckily for Drew, he won his seventh game in a row after getting the question wrong but only losing $1,000.
The former TV personality won the game with $18,000. Since his first win , Drew has gained over $129,000. On a popular Reddit forum dedicated to the game show , one fan discussed how Drew's betting on the Daily Doubles has saved him from being eliminated.
The commenter said, "Drew's performance on Daily Doubles has definitely been the difference in his run. "It's enabled him to overcome some sloppy play." The contestant got the first Daily Double at the beginning of the show.
With only $600, he bet $1,000, but he didn't get the answer .
