Due to artist touring complications, Mwenzo & The Shakes will no longer be playing Jazz in June on June 18, the organization announced on its Facebook page. Emily Bass and the Near Miracle will replace the Harlem-based band. The eight-piece Lincoln-based ensemble specializes in jazz, blues, R&B, soul, pop, rock and gospel-inspired sounds, drawing influence from Dizzy Gillespie to the Staples Singers, Janis Joplin and Carole King, The Near Miracle performs a mix of original music and covers, and it's known for its rich harmonies and dynamic live performances.
