Jay Slater 's best friend has detailed his last conversation he had with the missing teen before their phone call was cut short. As the search for Jay reaches its 12th day, crime journalist Isla Traquair spoke to one of the last people to hear from the holidaymaker before he disappeared - one of his closest friends Brad Hargreaves. Lancashire-born Jay vanished after attending a music festival on the Spanish island on Monday, June 17.
He was last heard from by his friends, as he told them he was hours away from his accommodation with a very low phone battery. Appearing on Friday's instalment of This Morning , Brad detailed the last promise Jay made to him before their conversation ended. Brad was sadly one of the last people to have spoken to Jay prior to his disappearance.
Opening up about Jay on This Morning, nineteen-year-old Brad became emotional as he spoke of his friend's "zest for life" and the final promise he made him. Brad said that Jay wasn't initially worried about finding his way back to his friends when he first got lost while on holiday in Tenerife. On their very last phone call, Jay made a promise to Brad that he would call him back again.
On the programme, Brad explained: "He was on the phone and he goes: 'I've got walk and go all down that road'. He added that Jay had promised to call him back but hung up as "someone else was ringing him." Brad also said that Jay, according to him, would have avoided going down the road he had mentioned during their phone cal.
