Showbiz I would like to be emailed about offers, event and updates from Evening Standard. Read our privacy notice . James Corden has revealed he and writing partner Ruth Jones are still working on their Gavin & Stacey script after previously saying that they had completed it.
The beloved BBC comedy is set to return with its final episode on Christmas Day and fans are eagerly awaiting the aftermath of Nessa and Smithy's dramatic proposal. In May, the TV star said that the script was done, revealing that they wrote it last year after he moved back to the UK following eight years hosting the Late, Late Show in Los Angeles. However, Corden, who plays Smithy, has now explained that they are still tweaking it but hope to have it finalised this week, during an appearance on Capital Breakfast on Wednesday.
Radio host Jordan North asked: “Is it all written, is it all locked in? Is there still stuff to write?” Corden revealed: “It's written right but now we're doing rewrites. So we have to, we have to remove some time, we have to change some bits around. “So we've been doing that, it's quite tough because Ruth Jones's (Nessa) in Sister Act over in the West End at the minute, and I'm doing The Constituent at the Old Vic.
” Adding: “So we've been doing quite a bit of writing in dressing rooms and things like that. And then both looking at each other being quite tired from the plays but we'll be back at it tomorrow. “Back at it Friday.
I hope by Friday...
it will be done and .
