Soccer Aid was back for another year on Sunday night with several huge names joining the pitch. The charity match returned for 2024, taking place at Stamford Bridge, and sees a string of A-listers get together in order to raise millions for Unicef. Since kickstarting in 2006, the event has raised an eye-watering £90 million for the charity, helping those in need in countries such as Cambodia.

Taking part in the special event on Sunday night includes the likes of Robbie Williams , Paddy McGuinness , Erin Doherty, Danny Dyer and Bobby Brazier taking part for the England team. Meanwhile, Roman Kemp , Usain Bolt, Tommy Fury , Martin Compston and Lee Mack will feature on the World XI team - to name a few of the star-studded names. The football match started at 7:30pm with the show kicking off at 6pm, where hosts Dermot O'Leary and Alex Scott urged viewers at home to donate money to the important cause with an advert in the corner suggesting show watchers could donate either £40, £30, £20 or £10.



However, some viewers were left divided over the minimum donation plea on screen amid a cost of living crisis. Taking to Twitter , now X, one person said: "#SoccerAid Sad for any parents that would really love to donate but may be struggling right now, as it seems to Soccer aid that £1, £2, £3 is no good to them.
