The star took to social media to reveal that the 19-year-old is the grandson of her godmother, throwing herself into the online efforts to locate him after he disappeared in Tenerife . Jay was last heard from making a distressed phone call to friends claiming he was lost as he tried too make his way back to accommodation during his visit to the island for a music festival.
Known for her portrayal of the outspoken Janice Battersby in Coronation Street, Vicky remains in constant contact with Jay's anxious family while also urging her fans to keep him in their thoughts. In response to one offer of assistance, Vicky updated: "I know all the authorities are pulling out all the stops to find him. Helicopters and drones etc.
" To another concerned fan, Vicky expressed a glimmer of hope stating: "It seems everyone is looking so that gives us all some hope that he will be found." The Lancashire-born teen, originally from Oswaldtwistle, was last seen wearing a grey tracksuit with a distinctive light green stripe on the shoulders and carrying a black bag.
