Coronation Street revealed Ellie's fate on Wednesday night's episode after concerning scenes earlier this week. Just last week, viewers found out Joel Deering was Lauren Bolton's killer after months of speculation. Lauren vanished from her flat in February, with traces of blood and human tissue, along with a weapon, found there.

She's believed to be dead by detectives with Nathan Curtis in the frame, while no body has been found. But flashbacks last week showed the moment Joel brutally attacked her and killed her. In the fallout we saw Bethany Platt, convinced Nathan was guilty, meeting with another young girl who had been groomed.

Bethany met with Ellie and asked her if Nathan was the man who harassed her, and she agreed. What Bethany didn't know was that Joel was hiding in the house and had made Ellie lie, with him being the person who had groomed Ellie, not Nathan. On Monday night we saw him panic, as Bethany revealed the police were going to speak with Ellie that day.

Joel appeared to rush off, and was later seen deleting Ellie's contact details from his phone in a mystery location. He gave a sinister look, just as the police revealed Ellie had fled her home and was nowhere to be found. Her housemate had told officers Ellie seemed scared, before deciding to leave that morning without saying a word.

She revealed all of Ellie's things were gone, and she had left. Viewers were concerned that Ellie could have suffered a similar fate to Lauren but thankfully her fate was revea.
