AN Irish singer looks completely unrecognisable in a "brilliant" throwback snap - but can you guess who it is? The celebrity, who is a household name, sent fans into a frenzy with his nineties throwback snap. Fans did a double take when they saw the old picture, from 29 years ago, of the Irish star in his football get-up. They couldn't believe it was Westlife star Nicky Byrne, 45, looking much younger in a Leeds United goalkeeper jersey.

The fresh-faced youngster had short hair and posed alongside his teammates. The singer spent some time as a professional footballer, playing for Leeds United in the UK , long before his Westlife days. The Dublin native played as a goalkeeper for Ireland underage teams before landing a contract with Leeds United .



Goalkeeper Byrne was part of a squad that included Jason Blunt, Paul Shepherd, Andy Gray, Simon Briggs, Lee Matthews, Ian Harte, Damien Lynch. And also in the throwback picture is Harry Kewell , Mark Jackson, Stephen McPhail, Martin Foster, Alan Maybury, Andy Wright. Two years later, the popular singer joined Westlife where he was catapulted into super stardom.

The caption alongside the old snap read: "1995 - 29 years ago. @leedsunited. "Who can name all of this unbelievable youth team!? Go.

.." Nicky's fans and friends all flocked to the comment section to share their love for his post and guess who some of the team's players are.

One fan said: "Glory Days Nikki! Is Jonny Giles in that photo?" Nico commented: "So young." Another wrot.
