International Day of Yoga, also known as Yoga Day, International Yoga Day or Global Yoga, is celebrated by yoga enthusiasts every year. This year again, we celebrate International Yoga Day 2024 on June 21, a Friday. The day is celebrated with the aim of raising awareness about this ancient practice and its many benefits.

Yoga is not only beneficial for your physical health but it is also beneficial for your mental health and overall well-being. On this day, people all across the globe come together at halls, parks, studios, gardens or in the outdoors and celebrate the day by performing yoga together. The ancient practice of yoga had originated in India ages ago.



Fast forward to 2014; Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi proposed establishing an International Day of Yoga. On December 11, 2014, the United Nations recognised June 21 as International Day of Yoga. This was accepted by 177 member states, highlighting the international appeal and recognition of yoga.

Yoga offers many benefits, both mental and physical. It improves physical strength and flexibility, boosts mood and concentration, and helps get rid of body pain, among other advantages. It's no surprise that many celebrities turn to yoga for fitness and overall well-being.
