A UNIQUE road trip is being hailed as "the new North Coast 500". Now holidaymakers are instead embarking on The North East 250, which takes motorists on a journey through the Cairngorms, Aberdeenshire, and Speyside. The route, launched in 2017, promises a number of experiences along the way, including whisky distilleries, spectacular mountain passes, famous castles, rugged North Sea coastline and picturesque seaside villages. The smaller route was even named one of the top 500 unmissable global travel experiences by Lonely Planet.
