As young rising stars set on becoming professional ballroom dancers, Graziano Di Prima and Giovanni Pernice both left home at an early age to train at one of the most prestigious schools in Europe. The Sicilian Strictly Come Dancing professionals, who have both been axed from the upcoming series, became students at Italy's Team Diablo in a bid to turn their dreams into a reality. Latin champ Giovanni, 33, and Samba title-holder Graziano, 30, achieved immense success in the world of dance and reached new heights when they joined the line-up for the hit BBC dancing competition.
However, they went to great lengths to get there, with brutal 12-hour days at the academy, living by strict diets. Now their fortunes on Strictly are over, after the broadcaster launched an investigation into Gio's alleged 'bullying' behaviour in the training room with Amanda Abbington. Meanwhile, Graziano has been accused of physically and verbally abusing dance partner Zara McDermott .
Following the bombshell news over the weekend, Graziano took to his Instagram page to share a statement, saying he "deeply regrets the events that led to my departure". He also added: "When the time is right, I will share my story." Giovanni, meanwhile, has always strenuously denied the allegations against him.
The pair have both spoken about their passion for dance, with Graziano admitting in his recent statement that this can sometimes get the better of him. He penned: "My intense passion and determination to win might.
