A REAL-LIFE WAG has urged people not to send the England team hate messages if they lose the Euros final, insisting "it's not that deep". Abbie Guy is married to Carlisle United midfielder Callum Guy, and the pair have two children together. She's experienced her fair share of football ups and downs thanks to Callum, with one of the most exciting moments being Carlisle United's promotion to League One after they beat Stockport County on penalties at Wembley last year.
But the team has had many losses over the years too, which is when Abbie has found herself targeted by angry football fans. "When your team are on a high and on a winning streak it can be very easy to get caught up in that life," Abbie said in a video on her TikTok page. "However, it's impossible to win every single game and that's when the real hate can start.
"When your own fans turn on you it can literally be traumatising. "I have had fans send me hate messages to send on to my husband. "That's how bad it can get!" Abbie added that while she's well aware a football match "can mean everything to some people", it should "never be that deep to send out a hate message".
"The preparation that can go into a game and all the hard work you see your partner do can literally be over in 90 minutes," she continued. "The only comparison I have is the Wembley final and I didn't have the whole nation watching my husband play and hoping and praying that he wins.
