A GYPSY woman has revealed why many children in her community do not go to secondary school. She shared that travellers believe that it is more important for young girls to be at home, learning skills like cooking and cleaning. Suzy, who is known online as @cuzinsuzyofficial1 , often uses her social media platform to educate people about traveller traditions.

In a recent video, the housewife explained why it is common for gypsy children to be pulled out of school. Not specifying what exactly she was referring to, Suzy said that many young girls are pulled out of school as they teach things that they "don't need to be learning". She said that instead, it is better for the girls to be at home where they can learn to cook and clean, and can look after their younger siblings.



Additionally, Suzy added that gyspy girls get pulled out of school so that they don't end up mixing with people from outside their community. She explained that this is because children from the settled community (i.e non-travellers) are allowed to say and do things that gypsy children are not.

"That's not to say that settled children are bad influences, but that is the reasoning behind it", she said. However, replying to a comment posted underneath the video, which questioned whether settled children are bad influences, Suzy said: "Girls are out drinking, sleeping with boys, getting pregnant and there's baby's left with no dads, so yeah, they are".
