A WOMAN has revealed that she saves £40 a month on her electric bill, by moving one lightbulb from room to room. Stephanie Bennet has a long list of extreme money saving techniques, despite her boyfriend Patrick stating that she has plenty of money. Speaking to TLC's Extreme Cheapskates, he said: "Stephanie has a good job.

"She works in a doctor's office and has a lot of money saved up, but she doesn't want to spend anything". Stephanie's house is often plunged in total darkness, and she and Patrick move the lightbulb around when they really need it. Another of the cheapskate's money saving techniques is to have "navy showers" which involves turning off the water when you are washing your body, and only having it on briefly while you rinse yourself off.

To make sure that Patrick sticks to her strict two minute shower rule, she has a baby monitor, and shouts at him through it if he is taking too long. Stephanie re-uses boiling water for cooking over and over again to save water, and saves every scrap of food that hasn't been eaten, for example scraping a dribble of pasta sauce back into the jar. Patrick and the rest of her family do not understand Stephanie's extreme ways but, despite being embarrassed by her, he does as she says because he loves her.

The money saver's scrimping reaches new heights in the supermarket, when she pulls grapes off their stalks and bananas out of their skins before weighing them, so that they end up costing less. This saves her around £2.30 per s.
